Privacy Policy

Jimmy-Dean processes personal data of visitors to this website. This policy explains what data that is, why I process it, how long I keep it and what rights you have.

Who is responsible

Jimmy-Dean, based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, is the controller for the processing of your personal data. If you have questions about this policy or about your data, email info@jimmy-dean.nl or use the contact form.

What personal data I process

If you fill in the contact form, I process the details you enter yourself:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Website
  • The content of your message

On top of that, data your browser sends automatically is processed once you have consented to statistics or marketing: your IP address, which pages you view, how long you stay, and details about your device and browser. Without that consent, none of this happens.

What I use it for, and on what basis

  • Replying to your message and discussing a project. Basis: performing a contract, or taking steps at your request before entering into one.
  • Protecting the contact form against spam. Basis: my legitimate interest in not receiving unsolicited messages.
  • Seeing how the site is used, so I can improve it. Basis: your consent, given through the cookie notice and withdrawable at any time.
  • Keeping my administration if the contact leads to work. Basis: a legal obligation.

How long I keep data

  • Messages sent through the contact form: up to two years after our last contact. If nothing comes of the message, I delete it sooner.
  • Invoices and related records: seven years, as required by Dutch tax law.
  • Visitor statistics: fourteen months at most, after which they expire automatically.
  • Cookies: for the period stated with each cookie. You can always delete them yourself through your browser.

Cookies and third-party services

A cookie is a small text file stored on your computer, tablet or phone the first time you visit. This site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work, plus cookies I ask your permission for first. You give that permission in the cookie notice, and you can change or withdraw your choice there at any time.

The following services may process data about you:

  • Necessary — remembering which language you chose and which cookie choice you made. No consent is required for these; without them the site does not work properly.
  • Google Analytics — recording which pages are visited and how people use the site. Only with your consent.
  • Hotjar — anonymous recordings of mouse movement and clicks, to see where the site is unclear. Only with your consent.
  • Tawk.to — the chat window that lets you ask a question directly. Only with your consent.
  • Google reCAPTCHA — checks on the contact form that you are not an automated spam sender. It only loads on the contact page.

Sharing with others

I do not sell your data and I do not pass it on for commercial purposes. I share it only with parties needed to run this site or to answer your message: the hosting provider that runs the site and the email, and the services listed above. I have agreements in place with these parties about how they handle your data. Beyond that, I share data only where the law requires it.

Transfers outside the European Union

Some of the services above are based outside the European Economic Area, or may transfer data there — to the United States in particular. Those transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or on the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission. If you do not consent to statistics and marketing, no data about you is transferred by that route.

Automated decision-making

I do not make decisions about you based on automated processing, and no profile is built about you to base decisions on.

Visitors under 16

This site is not aimed at visitors under the age of sixteen, and I do not knowingly collect data about them unless a parent or guardian has given permission. I have no way of verifying a visitor’s age. If you believe I have processed data about a minor without that permission, get in touch and I will delete it.

Your rights

You have the right to see your data, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. You may have the processing restricted, object to it, and withdraw your consent at any time — withdrawing does not affect anything that happened before. You also have the right to portability: on request I will send the data I hold about you, in a common file format, to you or to a party you name.

Send your request through the contact form or to info@jimmy-dean.nl. I respond within four weeks. To make sure I do not hand data to the wrong person, I may ask you to send your request from the email address I already have for you.

If you are unhappy with how I handle your data, I would rather hear it from you first. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch supervisory authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

How I keep your data secure

I take appropriate measures against misuse, loss, unauthorised access and unwanted disclosure. Traffic to this site is encrypted over HTTPS, the software is kept up to date, access to the admin area is restricted, and backups are made regularly. If you feel your data is not properly secured, or you see signs of misuse, let me know.

If anything changes in the way I process data, I will update this policy.
