A CMD graduation project including research into corporate identities and their monitoring. The project was carried out by me together with visual communication agency Uit de Kunst! and the hoogheemraadschap van Schieland en de Krimpenerwaard.
For the minor ‘User Interface and User Experience design’, I and a team of students were challenged by design studio Hike One to translate an existing mobile application to Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. We have chosen to port the Uber Driver app to CarPlay. My role within the team (‘Adapt’) was the visual designer.
During my internship I also worked on designing illustrations for an animation and designing a website in Sketch and I gave drawing workshops at ING and Rijkswaterstaat.
In addition to the many drawing assignments, I have also been busy producing printed matter at Buro BRAND. For example, I have designed icons that are used in a modern stairlift system.
During my internship at Buro BRAND, I mainly worked with pen tablets in Illustrator. Here I was able to use my (digital) drawing talents to help customers of the design studio. Through visual communication, I have been able to translate complex issues into understandable illustrations.
The assignment was to come up with a unique rental system for bicycles. After a preliminary investigation, I chose to do this for cargo bikes. My concept, ‘The shopping bike’, can be rented at a supermarket. For this concept, I also designed a terminal with an interface that allows users to unlock and use the bike.
For an assignment, I recreated the ING interface in Sketch and made it clickable with Marvel.
For LantarenVenster, a theater for film and jazz music in Rotterdam, I designed an application in Sketch that makes it possible to select a specific seat for the visit, just like with a flight.
The assignment was to design a platform for a bicycle rental system in the Netherlands. I was a bit stubborn about this, and I made the choice to design a scooter rental system. I came up with this concept before renting out electric scooters became so popular worldwide.
