Best of Blaak was held on Westblaak, the well known skatepark of Rotterdam. The event opened the national sports week, with the alderman for Sport and the chair of NOC*NSF present. The contest was meant for skateboarders, scooter riders, inline skaters and BMX riders.
Because four sports took part I made a design every rider can recognise themselves in. The transformer in the design is a well known artwork that has stood in the middle of Westblaak for years.
Rol je Rot is an annual skateboard contest for Dutch riders under sixteen. I was asked to design a logo for it.
The logo I put down fairly quickly. It has been used for the event since 2015.
The Benelux stunt scooter championship is held at Skateland every year. For this tournament I designed the emblem.
The lion on the scooter stands for the Netherlands. The emblem has been in use since 2015 and is now recognisable for the event.
The assignment was to design a platform for a bike rental system in the Netherlands. I was a little stubborn about it and went for renting out scooters.
The platform for that scooter rental I then designed. I came up with this concept before renting out electric scooters became so popular worldwide.
I was asked to design a new logo for Burgers & Frites, a burger place in Rotterdam South. Several concepts I presented to the owners.
After that I designed a number of iterations. It became a recognisable logo that has kept growing with the business since 2015.
For the opening of the Hefpark in Rotterdam South I designed a poster campaign. In the middle of the park are dirt jumps and pump tracks to ride and jump on a BMX.
I made several concepts and presented them to the client, then made the final changes from their feedback. The typefaces and colours match the identity of the Feijenoord Kop van Zuid district.
